Their plane had landed in Shanghai,Hyukiae had come to Shanghai,my friend at the airport say he wore a hat.
- Pan, Hyuk fan from his Baidu Bar

This boy is not good for my health. ;ooo; But yes, I’m glad that he’s okay and hopefully he doesn’t wore himself out tonight. Seeing these pictures just about killed my fangirl heart. ;ooo;

This doesn’t help my situation either:

RATA RATA ARANETA! Damn boy’s making waves all over my country and he hasn’t even come here yet! Everyone freaked out at Heechul’s pearly shells dance (umm, how does he know that??!), Eeteuk’s ‘Mabuhay’, but Hyuk’s ‘Rata rata’ just takes the cake. I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED. One more month to go, darling. One more month. ;ooo;

Oh, and Heartquake Project participants, there are still towels available but it’s running out fast. I can’t update the page much anymore because it screws up my HTML for some weird reason but rest assured your orders are being received. :)

My brother’s first reaction when he read the news after checking up on me due to these news-induced anguished screaming was:

Brother: AHAHAHAHAA WTF WHAT ABOUT ALL YOUR PLANNING FOR SS2

Manila SS2 was honestly the least of my worries, I was more of concerned, really, for his well-being. At least it’s safe to say that his grumpy mood and lethargy was more because of the swine flu rather than a personal problem, yeah? At least it’s confirmed that he’s just sick, and that he will recover, since hey, it’s swine flu, it’s not cool anymore for it to be fatal. I hope the poor boy gets all the rest he needs, and uh, he won’t spread it to the rest of the boys since having a widespread epidemic in their dorms is the last thing they need right now. :/

Take your time in getting well, kiddo. ♥

I’m the type of person who stays away from karaoke because I can’t sing for beans, but I guess Eunhyuk’s the exact person I need with me if ever I get gypped into joining a karaoke night because he’d save me from the potential humiliation of singing since he’d HOG THE MIC ALL TO HIMSELF. Like omg, does Eunhyuk even know the song, other than the ‘Oh yeahs’? I think I just about died at Leeteuk’s ‘Get me out of here >_<’ expressions and how he just kept on passing the lines for Hyuk to do, who GAMELY does it even if he doesn’t know it. XDD And omg, the vast differences of their ‘Oh yeahs’! Hyuk’s voice is so manly while Teuk’s is so ridiculously feminine, wtf man.

Oh and I LOVE it how Hyuk transformed it into his own mini-concert in the end. Are those Sukira noonas he kept on asking to sing with him, or are they actual fans watching from outside? Whatevs, Leeteuk’s variations from mortified to eventually being amused at Hyuk’s actions are just priceless. They’re such a bunch of dorks, lol!

Ah yes, I wouldn’t be a Super Junior fan if I haven’t blogged about this yet. Impending drama regarding the choreography aside, HOW AWESOME ARE THEY. What I really love about Super Junior’s dances is how they make really difficult dances look SO easy. From the sudden changes in tempo, formations, precise movements and just overall creativity, they just don’t FAIL to entertain. They also shine as individual performers yet at the same time they never stray from looking coordinated as a group, which just says so much about their teamwork and their efforts to put in a good show.

And the DANCING. *flails* When Eunhyuk’s dancing to win he really pull out all the stops, omg. And then there’s Donghae with his innate ability to draw you in with his presence, Shindong’s unending array of expressions, and then you put in Leeteuk and Kyuhyun’s efforts, it’s just a perfect overall combination. Totally deserved that prize. \m/

and you knew what would happen next.

We all know it’s going to happen eventually, right? Are we all eating our words now? Yeah, we get it, Hyukjae I shouldn’t have doubted you, but omg, way to smack me in the face for being so WRONG about your hair. Maybe it just took a really long time to grow on me (okay, maybe just a week since it hasn’t been that long since he had his hair cut) but seriously, he looks like an absolutely different person! It can’t just be the haircut and the clothes, or maybe it is. I don’t know. What I DO know is that I can’t stop myself from fawning over him like a happy noona because omg he looks SO adorably boyish and YOUNG and fresh in these photos, doesn’t he?!!

Also, in somewhat old (by default) news, he got kissed by a girl here.

I honestly don’t get what’s the big deal! From reading everyone’s comments before watching the video, I thought he was engaged in a passionate liplock or something. But it turned out to be just a skim of the lips! I had to rewind the video four to five times just to confirm that their lips actually touched. It was THAT nonexistent. Seriously, I was more bothered by the outdated Star King footage than anything else. How long were they hiding this clip anyway? XD

MBC Dance Battle coming soon, and it’s going to be 2PM vs. Super Junior. People are already expecting 2PM to win but I don’t care, I am psyched to see this combo of SJ members dancing together. I mean, taking off Sungmin for Kyuhyun? Donghae and Eunhyuk dancing together again? It’s the stuff good TV is made of. Can’t wait. ♥

Oh and for Eunhyuk fans going to SS2 in Manila, you can submit your orders in this thread. :)

I’m glad this aired during my day off or I would have found out about this next week or something. *dies a bit* I’m guessing this was filmed right after he had his hair cut? The new haircut is growing on me, even though I haven’t seen a lot of it, and like my sister said, ‘at least he looks like a guy now’. Never mind that for Eunhyuk to look like a guy, he has to age 10 or so years. Hmph.

Maybe I should learn to never get my hopes up too much when it comes to Eunhyuk’s dance battles, because this one wasn’t too disappointing, unlike the one with Taeyang. He doesn’t seem to try much anymore when it comes to these things, probably because he doesn’t feel like he has anything to prove, or maybe because he has too little time to prepare anything, or maybe he doesn’t want to grab the attention from the guests (which is a very important trait for a host, mind you). I can come up with a lot of reasons because I and a lot of people know for a fact that he can do better than this, and sometimes, I wish he’d be a jerk and just OWN it. But he won’t, because he wouldn’t be Eunhyuk if he does. ♥ At least this time he was more transparent in his pure disinterest in actually putting effort in this battle, and by going for the comedic route, he probably thought that at least he still accomplished something, which was making people laugh. Which he does also does pretty well, and I can’t complain when it’s what he wants to do and it satisfies him in the end. :)

Speaking of not trying too much, I really wish he wouldn’t do the same when it comes for his haircut! Eunhyuk, I’d really like to see what you’re hiding there. :( I doubt that the 4th jib would be released so soon to a point that he’s hiding a hairstyle/concept for that album promo, so why the secrecy? Is it that bad that he just refuses to be seen in public with it? I am not satisfied with this, or this (okay, maybe just a little bit *QQQ*), or this! Unless he’s bald underneath those hats (dear GOD PLEASE NO) I don’t get it why he’s hiding it. :( Lord knows how many times I watched their performance in the Seoul Music Awards hoping someone, Donghae, Siwon, ANYONE, would accidentally knock that hat off his head. Tee hee. Oh well, a girl can dream, for the time being.

Super in More Ways Than One

CONVERSATIONS With Ricky Lo (The Philippine Star) Updated February 07, 2010 12:00 AM

If you can rattle off the names of the 13 cuties comprising the popular Korean Pop Group Super Junior (SuJu for short) without missing a beat, then you are a Certified KPop Devotee.

Try it (at random): Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Han Geng, Yesung, HeeChul, Sungmin, Donghae, Kangin, Kibum, Siwon, Ryeowook, Shindong and Kyuhyun.

Got it? Congratulations!

Of course, you know that not all the members were discovered in Korea in a relentless recruitment that took almost a decade, starting in the late ‘90s, around Asia. Auditions kicked off in the early 2001. Han Geng was discovered in Beijing and Kibum in L.A. The group was completed only in 2006, with Kyuhyun as the 13th recruit.

SuJu outnumbers Slipknot by four members. SuJu membership equals the members of Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and April Boys put together.

Observed a KPop fan, “The (SuJu members) sing and dance, and kiss flowers, and giggle, and apply astringent,” and even dress up in girlish attires but make no mistake about it, they are not gay. “They are just whiny people screeching songs about heartbreak and pain,” added the KPop fan. “They just want to give out love and free hugs…”

Initially known as Super Junior 05, the group took a bow on Korean television in 2005 with its debut album SuperJunior05 (TWINS) that sold over 28,000 copies.

The group’s second album, Don’t Don, was released in 2007, followed by the third, Sorry, Sorry in March 2009.

Good news for SuJu fans: The group is coming to Manila as part of its Asian Tour: Super Show 2 set for April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Your third album, Sorry, Sorry, is well received all over Asia and with it you also have gained a bigger fanbase which makes you the greatest boy group in Asia. So what can we expect from your fourth album?

“We are really glad to have an opportunity to reach as many listeners as we can all over the world with Sorry Sorry. It drew huge support from the fans as well as other music lovers. We will try our best to live up to that enthusiasm. Please be ready for our new album which surely will show another best performance and colorful music styles. Thanks.”

(For all the members) Do you guys ever sleep? A lot of you regularly attend and record shows, fly to different countries for guestings, film dramas. But you all still manage to smile and look happy. What’s your secret in having such a positive outlook in life despite all the hardships?

“We consider the tight schedules as the proof of the fans’ love and support. We are enjoying it. We sometimes feel exhausted and yet as soon as we feel the fans’ encouragement, we forget about all the fatigue. Definitely, the love and support of the fans are the motivation for us to run and smile more.”

(For Siwon) A lot of your fans notice you take photos of members all the time with your camera. Would you consider releasing a photobook of your pictures soon?

“Glad to hear that! At the moment I’m taking pictures as just my hobby to keep the remembrance of the people around me, so they are not that professional at all but just keeping the pieces of my private memories. If I have the chance to learn more with my camera, and if there is any opportunity to release a photobook, I may go for it (or may not).

What I can clearly say at this moment, is that taking pictures is one of my favorite hobbies.”

(For Ryeowook) Given an option to release a solo album, would you go for ballads or something different like a song-dance album like Insomnia, the one you will perform at the Super Show?

“If I have the chance to release a solo album, I would try to produce the album with all my best efforts to represent more of my personality and color.”

Do the members have any favorite artists that are not Korean?

Ryeowook: I listen to all kinds of music. I like Craig David a lot, so I decided to do a solo performance of Insomnia in this Super Show 2. I hope you like it.

What does Super Junior think of SHINee?

“SHINee is like the good younger brother whom we consider very talented and special in terms of musical ability. We actually do a lot of sports together and got to know each other better. We have been watching them even before their debut, we feel very proud of them whenever we see them trying their best on and off the stage.”

Who among the Super Junior members has the best command of English?

“Probably it’s Siwon because he’s always reading English newspapers and books, so he might be the one who could speak English the best.”

Have you ever thought that you would visit the Philippines?

“We have heard that Sorry, Sorry has reached the top of Philippine charts, so we were really glad and wanted to visit as soon as possible. We are a bit nervous but very excited to think of visiting Philippines and we like to see all the fans during the Super Show 2 concert.”

What type of girls do you like?

“We all have different tastes. Shindong likes someone who is cute and adorable, and Siwon likes someone who he can communicate with very well. Leeteuk likes someone who is innocent and understanding; Kyuhyun and Sungmin like someone who is nice and charming. But ideal types of girls tend to change a lot, so I think that it changes depending on what kind of people you meet.”

How do you feel about being with Super Junior and being so famous all over the world?

“I’m happy that I’m one of the members of Super Junior. The teamwork is good and individually the members are good. Also, we are happy that not only Koreans but many other people outside Korea are cheering for us. If we get the chance, we want to visit more countries and meet all kinds of people. To all the fans who are giving much love even from abroad, thank you again.”

If you were not with Super Junior, what do you think you would be doing?

“It depends on each member. If I were not with Super Junior, how would I be? Hmmmm…I think this is a difficult question. I think we would be just ordinary students or maybe not members of Super Junior but still a celebrity. But we think being Super Junior is the best. We can’t think of anything else.”

What are some of your most memorable performances?

“The most memorable one is the Asian concert tour. There’s a time when we feel that we are united with the audience. We enjoy every show in every city. I think the second half or the encore part is the most exulting moment. We feel really good with all our songs and we feel really good when our audience responds to our performance positively. That’s when we feel our best.”

What are your favorite songs and why?

“We love all the songs, but the performance of Sorry, Sorry is very memorable. It is the creation of the global dancer, Nick Bass. He visited Korea and coached us in our choreography. We learned many things by being together and we had so much fun because it’s new compared to the performance that we’ve done before, and there were many changes in the choreography. And also, not only Korean but many other Asian fans loved our song and the choreography of Sorry, Sorry. There were parodies and many UCC videos regarding that. We love it as much as many people loved our performance.”

Why do you think Super Junior is a huge success?

“This is a difficult question since we are still on our way to our goal. First, our first step was something new. There were not much groups that had lots of members like us back then, and there were no group that sings, acts and at the same time works as a DJ, MC and in many other fields. So I think that is why as soon as we had our debut, we had a chance to show our individual appeal and that each of us was active in different fields. I think the reason why not only Korean but other Asian fans love us is because we are active both as a group and individually. It creates a synergy effect.”

There’s nothing really Eunhyuk-centric about this article but what the heck, I just want to share! Awhile back when announcements about the SS2 here in Manila were being made, the organizers contacted random fans and asked us, ‘If you could ask any question/s to Super Junior, what would it be?’. I sent in four questions, expecting it to be just a small write-up for Pulp Magazine, and forgot all about it. Imagine my surprise to find out that it was going to be published in a Ricky Lo article! To those who don’t know, Ricky Lo is one of the most respected and well-known entertainment writers here in the Philippines, and he’s known for his candid, honest and thought-provoking interviews done in intimate settings. If Super Junior were to come here and actually have an interview with Ricky Lo I bet it would be all-sorts of amazing, but for now I guess we have to settle with questions provided by fans. XD

The questions I sent in were the ones for Siwon (re: photography) and Ryeowook (re: going solo), and the general question about how the boys cope with their intense schedules and all the drama revolving about them lately. I actually sent in a question for Eunhyuk about whether he’s open to interracial marriages now that he’s traveled different places around the world, but like what I was expecting, he didn’t answer it. Hmph, that brat. XD

Donghae’s expression is just full of LULZ. Eunhyuk you are such a slut. Siwon you lucky lucky boy. DAMN. \ooo/

Good read regarding ELF in the Philippines from SUJU MAD.

Here’s my 2 cents regarding the “unity” issue. (I won’t mention any FC names here)

Sa totoo lang, ang hirap. We have 2 or 3 FCs here in the Philippines. SS2 is fast approaching and I’m sure that they have different projects for the upcoming concert.

Let’s say FC A made a BANNER and so FCs B and C do. Ayun, hindi masyadong halata kasi pwede namang ikalat ‘yun sa buong coliseum. Malaki ang Araneta for different banners. The more, the merrier pa, ‘di ba?

Second, SHIRTS. Gagawa at gagawa ang mga ‘yan ng shirts for their clubs and definitely, may club name ‘yan na nakasulat somewhere sa shirt. Hindi rin ‘yun masyadong mahahalata ng boys since nasa stage sila and busy entertaining us pero tayo, kitang-kita natin ‘yun. Malay mo sa mismong seat natin, you’re from FC B pero by chance, from FC A ‘yung nasa kaliwa mo at from FC C naman ‘yung nasa kanan mo. What would you feel? Best t-shirt design ba ‘yung dahilan kung bakit nasa concert ka?

Next, LIGHT STICKS. I heard some are planning to do a wave or different techniques for the light sticks. Sige, your FC is well prepared for this. Paano sa mismong event? Susunod ba ‘yung iba sa plan ninyo? Paano kung meron din silang plan for it? Can you visualize it? We will look like a huge Christmas tree na may mga pundidong bulb!

Best of all, the CHANTS. This is going to be the most obvious and painful of all plans. Why? Some are thinking to have a new and fresh chant since this is the first time na pupunta ang SJ sa Pinas. They wanna have it na may Pinoy touch kahit paano. ‘Yung iba naman, they followed the original chant. Hindi naman siguro tayo makakasagasa kung irerevise natin somehow ‘yung chants ‘di ba? Besides, are we gonna prove to the whole wide world na walang originality ang mga Pinoy? Imagine the boys singing “Marry U.” We all know na ito ‘yung song na nakapagpaiyak sa kanila sa first SS kasi they were all touched. Baka naman sa SS2 Manila, ito ‘yung magsabi sa kanila na “Ok, ganito pala sila dito. Nakakadisappoint naman.” Ang gandang first impression ‘nun!

Marami pang plans and projects. Hindi ko na iisa-isahin. Ayaw kong gumawa ng nobela para sa inyo.

We all said na we wanna make this concert a very special and memorable event for the boys. Are we gonna do it like this? Our team’s name is SuJu M.A.D. (Super Junior Made A Difference). Ito ba ‘yung DIFFERENCE na ‘yun? Kung ito nga, I’ll remain as a fan by myself na lang! Wala pang issue.

Personally, I don’t care kung may ganitong usapin. Hahayaan ko na lang kayo na magkaganyan. I will just go and see the concert tapos uwi na. Pero hindi, eh! I’m doing this because I LOVE SUPER JUNIOR. I know you guys love them, too. Ikaw! Oo, ikaw! Lilingon pa, eh! Magpababaan na ng pride. Nagmamataas at nagmamatigas pa, eh. Sana naman magkaisa tayo.

I haven’t been a Super Junior fan long enough to understand or have a good opinion on these so-called fanclub wars, but I’ve read enough backbiting among these local fanclubs to get one thing: we’re definitely not united. Normally, I don’t really give a f*ck, because in every obsession I had in life, I always did things on my own. I got into Jrock and anime without having to attend any con or join fanmeetings or contests or sign up for clubs. I got into Thai Pop without having met any Thai fan or going to any of the concerts. Now, I got into Super Junior and was relatively content with interacting with only Eunhyuk fans or fans of pairings I ship. I didn’t give a rat’s ass about any of those only13/only5/only7 movements and probably the only WTF moment I had in fandom was when rumors about Eunhyuk joining Geng in his lawsuit started going around.

However, it was not until I watched Super Junior live in both Hong Kong and Bangkok did I realize that merely sitting on the sidelines and enjoying fandom in your own little universe isn’t fun at all. Maybe it worked for my other fandoms, but not for Super Junior. As I watched Thai fans hand out sheets of paper containing lyrics to ‘So I’ and other fanchants to every concert attendee, Hong Kong fans restlessly constructing their own lightboards right there on the arena, and white lightsticks carefully planted all over the arena to form stars glowing amidst the sea of sapphire blue during ‘Shining Star’, I started getting overwhelmed with this feeling of wanting to be a part of something BIG, and being instrumental in making it happen.

I returned home to the Philippines shaking my head, thinking at how awesome fandom unity can be. Super Junior fandom IS serious business, but it doesn’t have to be a warzone, guys. Now that the Manila SS2 is coming up in a few months, I hope we spend all those days planning and coming together to make it the most memorable event of our lives. I don’t think I’m alone here, but we Filipinos are blessed that Super Junior and SM Entertainment actually included us in one of their stops. Kpop only became popular here recently and even though Super Junior has a lot of followers here it is without a doubt still a niche market. And not only that, we have not just one, but three members celebrating their birthday on the month when they’ll be coming here. I mean, how GREAT is that?!

Definitely, we can make this the best Super Show SJ ever had. We can make them go back to Korea afterward, thinking, ‘Dang, now THAT was fun.’  It is possible if we are united. Cliche? Yeah, but true. Those fans in other countries didn’t come up with all those amazing projects and chants on their own. They worked together, communicated endlessly with each other and united to make it possible. With this in mind, I hope SJ fans going to the Manila SS2 can try joining SUJU MAD and pitch in whatever ideas you have, no matter how small or large.

75 days until the prize, guys. LET’S DO THIS. \m/

Reasons why Super Show 2 in Beijing is made of awesome summed up in one picture alone:

1) Eunhyuk’s hair is RED again, ladies. This is one Super Show 2 staple I’m very, very happy with, along with Heechul’s facemask and shirtless!Siwon. He just looks FANFREAKINGTASTIC with red hair; his brown hair always makes him look ten years old. Red hair on him always makes him look more mature and just…sex on freaking legs, omg. I am totally shameless fangirling this boy, am I. D:

My brother: …isn’t that the point? He’s only 24, he’s supposed to look younger than you.
Me: ;ooooo; *dies in humiliation*

2) He got a brand-spankin’ awesome new outfit for Heartquake! And here I thought nothing can outpimp the white suit+black shades+ fedora combo, he just has to show up in a shiny black suit with FURRRRR. It’s totally reminiscent of his look for the Melon Awards opening performance, and we all know (OKAY I DIDN’T THEN, HATE ON ME, WORLD, WHY DON’T YOU D:) how well he does black suits and fiery red hair and with sexy guyliner to that. CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE PICTURES, GOSH.

I really hope this is exactly how he’s gonna look like for the Manila leg. Are you there, God? It’s me, Leigh!
